This study is a secondary analysis of 2012 National Health Interview Survey data.
NHIS is a cross-sectional household interview survey conducted periodically by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS).
The target population for the NHIS is the civilian noninstitutionalized population of the United States.
The core questionnaires provide information on demographics, health status, health behaviors, and health care access and utilization.
